Is Cannabidiol or CBD Legal?
Understanding the Health-Boosting Functions and Benefits of CBD Hemp Oil
People frequently hear about the wonderful medicinal benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) products, and many want to try these natural therapies for themselves. However, some are understandably hesitant. Because cannabis laws remain a patchwork quilt of confusion across the United States, the answer to the question of whether oils, tinctures, gel caps and other CBD items are legal in a particular state can be hard for most individuals to determine.
With this in mind, and because there is a lack of solid CBD information on the internet, we are here to clear the smoke, so to speak. CBD products are legal in every state of America, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the law when ordering, possessing or using our products. Furthermore, using CBD products will not give you a positive result on a drug test, so it will not jeopardize your job status or reputation either.
CBD Is Made From Hemp, Not Marijuana
The cannabidiol in our products, from the edibles to the vape juice, is made from industrial hemp plants and produced right here in the USA. Because federal laws that place cannabis and cannabis products on the schedule 1 list of prohibited substances all refer to products derived from marijuana, CBD oils and other products made from hemp are not included. Marijuana is not Hemp, and vice versa.
Marijuana and Hemp were bred for very distinct uses thousands of years ago, and they are now considered separate subspecies of cannabis. While marijuana was cultivated for psychoactive effects, hemp was raised to grow fast and produce fiber, seeds and numerous other materials, such as paper, clothing and rope. While marijuana is illegal at the federal level, the United States imports over $500 million dollars worth of hemp products every year. Federal law only prohibits products made from marijuana, which means our hemp-derived products are 100-percent legal.
CBD Will Not Get You High
The main distinction between marijuana and hemp is that the former produces large resin-rich flowers, which are full of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), while hemp does not. THC is the active compound that gives people a “high” and an altered state of consciousness when they consume marijuana. It is this quality that is the rationale for the federal government’s control over, and ban on, marijuana and any products made from it.
Hemp, on the other hand, does not produce these THC-containing flowers. CBD does not have any psychoactive effect and, therefore, cannot be considered a mind-altering substance. This is also why you can take CBD products on a daily basis and not test positive for drug use in any of the testing methods that are used by employers or the police. CBD is not a drug. It is pure medicine.
